The hoops season is in the books but one local star recently picked up some recognition.
Princeton's McKenzie Akers was named to the class AAA All-State first team by the West Virginia sports writers association.
Akers averaged over 20 points and just under seven assists per game this year as Princeton won 14 games during the 2011-12 season.
The junior also scored her 1,000th point and returns for her senior year hoping to break Tina Fix's record and become PSHS' all-time leading scorer in girls basketball.
