Several local girls named to All-Tournament Teams

State tournaments may be over but several area girls were named to the all-tournament teams in AAA and AA.

In AAA, Greenbrier East had three players named to the team. Anna Hammaker, Cheyenne Hooper and Bianca Andre all picked up the honor. Andre and Hammaker averaged 16 points per game throughout the tournament. Hooper averaged a double-double in the three games with 12 points and 13 rebounds along with six blocks per game.

In AA, four area players took home all-tournament honors. Westside won the AA championship and saw Hope Lester, Cheyanna Lusk and Tori Patrick be named to the all-tournament team. Lusk and Patrick are both seniors but Lester just a freshman. Lester had 28 points and 21 rebounds in the championship game.

Also in AA, Danielle Compton of PikeView was named to the all-tournament team. The Panthers lost in the semi-finals to state runner-up Scott. The Senior, Compton, was a leader on a PikeView team that defeated Summers County in the sectional tournament, ending their run of 26 straight sectional titles.
