Area sheriffs join forces for drug drop-off

BECKLEY (WVVA) - Sheriffs of four area counties have come together to expand the number of prescription drop-off locations in southern West Virginia.

Monroe County Sheriff Mike Gravely and Summers County Sheriff Edward Dolphin joined Raleigh County Sheriff Steve Tanner in Beckley Tuesday to received drop boxes for their counties.

The boxes are modeled after the one in use at the Greenbrier County Courthouse. Greenbrier County Sheriff Jim Childers says his county's box has been a success.

If you have old medication that is no longer needed you can drop it off in the designated drop boxes.

The sheriffs say the effort is designed to help get more prescription drugs off the streets.
