BLUEFIELD (WVVA) - Shelters have been established in Mercer County for residents still without electricity.
The Salvation in Army Bluefield, The Red Cross and the Union Mission have joined forces to open a warming shelter at the Salvation Army location on Highland Avenue in Bluefield.
The shelter was scheduled to open beginning at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Meals will be served beginning at 6:30 p.m.

If you need a place to take a hot shower you are asked to bring your own towels.
In Princeton, Lt. Mike Michels tells WVVA News that the Salvation Army will be offering a free dinner and shelter at their location on Princeton Avenue. Shelter will also be provided for anyone who needs to stay overnight.
You are asked to bring your own bedding if staying.
Michels says food or monetary donations would be accepted to aid with the efforts.
On Monday, WVVA News was notified of two shelters set up in Tazewell County, at the Boissevain 945 Rescue Squad and the Bluefield Rescue Squad.
