UPDATE: HILLSVILLE (WVVA) - A pair of teens missing from the Galax area have been found safe, and the woman they were suspected of leaving with is behind bars after being arrested in Bluefield, Va.
Gabriella Davis and Emma Padgett, both 15, were found in Carroll County, Va., Monday after last being seen by their parents Saturday night leaving an apartment complex. They were returned to their parents' custody.
The woman police believed they left with, 20-year-old Catheryn Miller of Hillsville, was arrested in the McDonald's parking lot in Bluefield, Va., Monday. She's wanted by Galax Police in connection with a robbery at the same apartment complex.
Police say information gathered in Bluefield led them to the teens' location on Millstone Road in Carroll County. Police say evidence indicates the teens left voluntarily, but were unaware the the robbery had occurred.
Miller is currently jailed in Tazewell on charges of extortion, assault and destruction of property related to the robbery. She will be returned to Galax where police say she will also be charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
ORIGINAL REPORT: Galax Police Department is investigating the disappearance of two teenage girls reported missing early Sunday morning. A spokesperson for Galax Police Chief Rick Clark says 15-year-old Gabriella Davis and Emma Lee Padgett, also 15-years-old, were last seen by their parents and were reportedly going to watch a movie in Galax.
Investigators discovered that the teens were at a Galax apartment complex around 8:00 PM Saturday night and were seen leaving with two Hispanic males and a white female. They believe the girls may still be with the female identified as 20-year-old Catheryn "Cat" Miller.
Miller's last known address is in Hillsville, Virginia (Carroll County), however, she also has ties to the Vansant area of Buchanan County, Virginia. Miller is wanted by Galax Police for a robbery that occurred in the same apartment complex in the City of Galax Saturday night.
Miller is 5'3", 285 lbs with brown hair and blue eyes. She has a pierced lower lip and a short haircut.
Gabriella Faith Davis is 5'4", 170 lbs with brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with "Virginia Girl" on the front.
Emma Lee Padgett is 5'10", 150 lbs with brown Hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black Under Armor hooded sweatshirt.
Police believe the three may be traveling in a newer model white Toyota pick-up.
