RICHLANDS -- Joe Adair, Banquet Chairman has lined up Randall M. Albert, Chief Operating Officer of gas operations for CONSOL Energy as this year's featured speaker for the Annual Richlands Area Chamber of Commerce Membership Meeting and Banquet, Thursday, March 8, 6:30pm, Southwest Virginia Community College, Richlands, Virginia.
Randall Albert is chief operating officer of gas operations for CONSOL Energy Inc. In this position, he is responsible for all aspects of the company's natural gas business. Previously as senior vice president – emerging business units, Randy was responsible for managing the company's shale programs, including the Marcellus Shale, and other emerging gas plays. Historically, he has had overall responsibility for managing the start-up of two Appalachian coalbed methane gas plays for CONSOL's Energy's CNX Gas Company.
He graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. degree in mining engineering and began working for CONSOL Energy in 1979 as an engineer trainee joining the company full time after graduation from Virginia Tech. From 1980 to 1990, Randy held various mining positions within CONSOL Which included roles in the initial coal mine degasification efforts which ultimately lead to the creation of CONSOL Energy's CNX Gas subsidiary.
He serves on the board of directors of the Virginia Oil and Gas Association and the executive board of Marcellus Shale Coalition. He is a registered professional engineer in Virginia and West Virginia.
