Study highlights gap between federal and private sector jobs
A new government study found the average federal worker earns more than a private sector worker in a comparable profession.
According to the congressional budget office study, once pension and health benefits are factored in, the average federal worker takes in 16 percent more in total compensation than private sector workers.
Also federal workers with a high school education or less earn about 4 dollars more an hour than private sector employees.
Later this week, House G-O-P leaders will vote on whether to extend the current pay freeze on federal workers.
