Mercer County Animal Shelter reopens

GREEN VALLEY (WVVA) - The Mercer County Animal Shelter has reopened following a recent distemper outbreak that forced a quarantine.

Shelter staff along with other county workers and volunteers have spent the last two weeks cleaning, painting and making repairs to the facility.

New Director Stacy Shampo says she's excited to have the shelter back in operation.
