Greenbrier SWAT conducts training

RONCEVERTE -- On Tuesday, the members of the Greenbrier County Sheriff's SWAT team conducted a site survey at Eastern Greenbrier Middle School.

The purpose of a site survey is to familiarize the team members with the school, and to build a plan for emergency response.

Sheriff Childers states that the safety of our children is a priority, and having a plan in place greatly increases response times. Having a plan for response allows officers to respond immediately to any emergency.

Sheriff Childers plans to have the team visit all schools in Greenbrier County, to put in place a planned response.
The Sheriff says that we sincerely hope this would never be needed, but we can not ignore the possibility. To not be prepared would be a grave injustice to our children.
