RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Small business owners, stakeholders and policymakers are set to gather for Gov. Bob McDonnell's Small Business Summit.
The event is scheduled for Thursday in suburban Richmond and will feature panels on procurement, technology, key issues and financing.
McDonnell says small businesses are the backbone of local economies and make up 98 percent of all businesses in Virginia. The governor says the summit is part of an effort to support and foster a positive environment in which small businesses can innovate, expand and grow jobs and opportunities.
