MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) -- West Virginia has signed defensive coordinator Jeff Casteel and other defensive assistant coaches to contract extensions.
The Dominion Post (www.dominionpost.com) reports Casteel signed an extension through the 2013 season that would increase his base salary from $295,000 to $400,000 this season. He'll receive $50,000 increases in both the 2012 and 2013 seasons.
Assistant coaches Bill Kirelawich (ker-LAV-ich), Steve Dunlap and David Lockwood each signed contract extensions through 2012. Their salaries increase from about $215,000 to $250,000 a year.
West Virginia's defense ranked third in the nation last season.
