(WVVA) Montcalm High School football coach Justin Gilbert has resigned from his position. Montcalm athletic director Craig Havens tells WVVA that Gilbert has accepted an assistant coaching position at Bland High School. Gilbert is also the head baseball coach at Bluefield High School.

According to Havens, James Redmond will fill in as the interim coach for the Montcalm football team until a new coach is hired. The school intended to find a new coach before the start of the 2011 season.
