Fairlea (WVVA) - The Greenbrier Classic will bring in thousands of people to our area. The Greenbrier Resort says they are ready for the crowd, and busy preparing for the event. But finding a parking space at the Golf Course won't be easy.
But luckily the West Virginia State Fair Grounds is right down the road.
State Fair Manager Marlene Pierson-Jolliffe says that for the second time, the State Fair Grounds will be providing parking for the PGA Tours Greenbrier Classic, and even camping.
"We have two full camper hook ups and it is extremely convenient because people can camp here, walk outside their RV and easily get to a shuttle and be taken straight to White Sulphur Springs."
But RV Parking has been booked for months. Jolliffe says they are expecting over 200 RV's.
"The demand has increased since last year, which we knew it would, so we actually aren't taking any more campers at this time."
The workers at the State Fair Grounds have been busy preparing for the crowd.
"We do have a lot of acreage here, a lot of grass and hay to be mowed. We have had a local farmer that has been mowing hay for us."
But don't forget about the entertainment. Jolliffe says that once again, the grounds will be hosting the Country Music Stars and the Black Eyed Peas.
"People are already on the back of the fairgrounds getting ready for the show."
Jolliffe says that now they have one year experience under their belt that everyone involved with the tour has done everything possible to make this years event an even better success.
"It's going to be quite a party."
