CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Sentencing will be Nov. 13 for a Raleigh County man in the death of a Charleston man whose body was found in a shallow grave. Twenty-six-year-old Deveron Patterson of Mabscott pleaded guilty yesterday in Kanawha County Circuit Court to first-degree murder in the death of 28-year-old Kareem Hunter.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Union workers at Frontier Communications have ratified a three-year contract with the company. Frontier and the Communications Workers of America announced the ratification in a news release yesterday. The new contract will expire in August 2017. It covers about 1,500 employees in 42 West Virginia counties.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Freedom Industries may try to enter a state program to help ease cleanup at the site where a chemical spill polluted the Charleston area's water supply. No decisions have been made and the company has not yet submitted a formal application for the program.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Yeager Airport officials are exploring a project that could make the airport run entirely on solar power. The project would place solar panels atop the parking garage closest to the airport's terminal and in the airfield near the runway. The money for the $15.3 million project would come from the Federal Aviation Administration.
