BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) -- Virginia Tech men's basketball coach Seth Greenberg says swingman Manny Atkins has decided to transfer following the spring semester.

Atkins says he wants to go to a program where he is likely to play more.

The rising junior from Stone Mountain, Ga., appeared in 33 games this season and played an average of just over 13 minutes as injuries left the Hokies with only eight scholarship players.

He averaged 4.9 points and scored 16 in a home victory against Wake Forest on Jan 15.
