CLARKSBURG – Judy McCauley, director of the U.S. Small Business Administration's West Virginia District Office, announced today that Huntington National Bank has been named the 2010 Large/National Lender of the Year for West Virginia.
The lending institution provided funding for 33 small businesses for nearly $5 million through SBA's guaranteed loan program. The 33 loans represented nearly 15 percent of the total West Virginia SBA guaranteed loan volume for fiscal year 2010.
"We at the West Virginia District Office are proud to recognize Huntington National Bank for their outstanding accomplishments in providing capital to the West Virginia small business community," said McCauley. "We greatly appreciate the support Huntington has demonstrated for West Virginia's entrepreneurs when it is most needed and for using SBA's guaranty loan program."
Huntington provided funding through SBA loan guarantees to 168 West Virginia small businesses totaling nearly $16 million the past four years.
"Huntington has made an aggressive commitment to support small businesses and is proud to be West Virginia's top SBA lender," noted Craig Street, director of SBA lending for Huntington. "We are honored to support small businesses in West Virginia, and throughout the Midwest, and our goal is to make an even greater impact in 2011 to help small businesses drive our economy forward."
The Columbus Ohio based financial institution was recognized at the 2011 Small Business Lending Conference at Seven Springs Mountain Resort today. Accepting the award on behalf of Huntington National Bank was Stephanie Ellingson, SBA product specialist for West Virginia.
