Mike Patrick named COO of Boy Scouts camp in W.Va.


GLEN JEAN, W.Va. (AP) -- Mike Patrick has been named chief operating officer of a $400 million adventure camp the Boy Scouts of America is developing in southern West Virginia.

The Scouts announced Patrick's appointment Wednesday.

Patrick has more than 30 years' experience in development and managing entertainment and destination properties, including Walt Disney World and Busch Gardens Tampa.

The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve is scheduled to open in 2013. The 10,600-acre camp is located in Fayette County between Glen Jean, Prince and Mount Hope.

A website for The Summit, summitbechtelreserve.org, was launched Wednesday.
