BECKLEY, W.Va. (AP) -- Former President Bill Clinton wants West Virginia voters to send Gov. Joe Manchin and his track record to the U.S. Senate.

Clinton told a Monday rally near Beckley that Washington needs his fellow Democrat's approach to taxes and spending.

Clinton said GOP groups have tried to disguise Manchin as if it's still Halloween. He told the crowd outside the Tamarack artisan center to reject that trick.

Manchin also spoke, as did 3rd Congressional District Rep. Nick Rahall.

Clinton stumped for Manchin last month in Morgantown. The Senate race's Republican candidate, John Raese, is expecting support Monday from Rudy Giuliani. The former New York mayor is to appear at evening events in Clarksburg and Fairmont.
