Sentencing date moved for teenager convicted of murder

Posted:

The teenager convicted of stabbing a Princeton man to death a year ago this month will not be sentenced until November.

Joseph Marrs, 18, previously entered a guilty plea to second degree murder in the death of David Shockley, 29, of Princeton, W.Va.

Marrs was still a juvenile at the time of his arrest but prosecutors waited until he turned eighteen before they submitted the case to the Grand Jury.

Sentencing was delayed on Tuesday to allow the defense to take a look at his psychological evaluation.
