Emmy-award winning journalist Eric Greene anchors WVVA News weeknight at 5, 6 and 11 p.m. He also hosts In Focus and produces the All Points Bulletin report. Greene joined WVVA in August, 2010.

Eric had an earlier start to his career than most television journalists. He was only 19, a history major at Tulane University, when he landed his first anchor position at WGNO, then a small independent station in New Orleans.

Greene, who originally hails from New Jersey, most recently worked in newsroom management at stations in Pennsylvania and North Carolina, but the urge to get back in the trenches led him to WVVA. His most recent on-air position was as anchor of the top-rated morning news for Cablevision's News 12 Connecticut. Eric also hosted two weekend programs, Education Notebook and What's Cooking. Education Notebook won the 2007 Chairman's Award from the New England Cable & Telecommunications Association (NECTA). In 2006 NECTA named Education Notebook Best Scheduled Program.

Eric has won an Emmy award for general reporting and has been nominated for anchoring, investigative reporting and his work on various specials. Eric has also won three Ohio Excellence in Journalism awards from the Press Club of Cleveland and Society of Professional Journalists. One of his stories, about a Holocaust survivor who travels back to her homeland of Poland, has been selected by the United States Holocaust Memorial Council for the Steven Spielberg Film and Video Archives. Eric also won three Illinois Associated Press awards for the feature and spot news reporting. He's been elected into the "Who's Who in the Midwest" and was chosen as one of the "Outstanding Young Men in America" by the National Jaycees.

A dedicated volunteer, Eric has hosted telethons for Easter Seals, the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Children's Miracle Network. Noteworthy as well is his long-time support for AIDS-related programs and fundraisers.

Eric and his wife, Susie, have three children, Matt, a college student and aspiring writer, high school student Cassie, and Brandy, who is married and works in advertising in Los Angeles.
