Believe it or not but spring will be here soon and we need to make sure our garden equipment is ready to go. One thing you may not think about is caring for your equipment that's made out of leather like work gloves and boots and cases and straps. If you don't do anything to leather after it's gotten wet then it gets stiff and it begins to crack and of course when leather cracks it's weaker. The process to prevent that is simple. You just use something that's called neatsfoot oil.you can find neatsfoot oil and local sporting goods and farm stores. First look for signs of stiffness and cracks and wear that might appear to be lighter in color. These spots will need more oil than others. You can put the oil on with a rag or small foam brush. You may need to put on several coats so put the oil on and let it soak in and then look to see if you can still see those signs of wear. If you can then put on another coat.
