AARP hotline launched in West Virginia

West Virginians looking for a little help in hard times now have a new resource courtesy of the AARP.

Gov. Joe Manchin announced Today (Monday) that the AARP Foundation in West Virginia will operate a Help Line to connect people to local services, including credit counseling, housing agencies and food banks.

The hot line will be manned from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The number is 1-877-677-0677.

The volunteer-staffed hot line is open to all West Virginians, although it's targeted to people 50 and older.

The AARP Help Line project also serves people in Georgia and Louisiana and is scheduled to expand to other states.
