Princeton, W.Va. (WVVA) - West Virginia State Police now have a person of interest in the case of a missing McDowell County woman.

First Sergeant Vince Deeds with the Princeton detachment of the W.Va. State Police says they want to bring Michael Wiseman in for questioning concerning the whereabouts of Crystal Dawn Cantrell.

Wiseman is allegedly the last person to be seen with Cantrell before her reported disappearance.

Although police will not confirm if the body found in Mercer County Tuesday evening is that of the missing woman, family members say they stumbled upon Crystal's body on route 19 in Spanishburg on Tuesday, and the body is that of their loved one.

Sergeant Deeds says police are waiting on the medical examiner's office to positively identify the body, and will continue to search for Cantrell.

Cantrell was last seen at the Goodson Supermarket in Welch last Friday.

Spanishburg, W.Va. (WVVA) – The family of a local missing woman says the body that was recovered Tuesday in Mercer County, is that of their loved one.

McDowell County authorities had been searching for Crystal Dawn Cantrell, approximately 36-years-old, for nearly four days, when a body was discovered in the Spanishburg area of Mercer County Tuesday afternoon.

In a phone interview with WVVA, Cantrell's sister, Annette, said the family had requested that authorities search the wooded area near Blue Stone River. The family then began its own search in the area looking for Crystal Cantrell.

The victim's sister says she was the first to discover the body of Cantrell and immediately called police. The West Virginia State Police responded to the scene and recovered the body.

Law enforcement has not released the name or any information of the discovered body, but family members of Crystal Cantrell confirm the body is that of the missing woman.

Police say they will not release any additional information until they receive an autopsy report from the state medical examiner's office.

Cantrell's family previously reported she was last seen with a Michael Wiseman of Hemp Hill at the Goodson Supermarket in Welch on Friday August 6th. Police have not released any information regarding persons of interest in this case.
