FAIRMONT, W.Va. (AP) - A performance video on YouTube helped Fairmont Senior High School's Steel Drum Band land an invitation to 1 of the nation's biggest Independence Day parades.
Band director Shawn Dunn says he's accepted the surprise invitation from the city of Philadelphia.
He says parade coordinators were surfing the Web for ideas when they came across Fairmont's video, which showed a performance at Buckhannon's annual Strawberry Festival.
Dunn says YouTube lets him share the band's hard work with a wider audience than it can get in person.
