Manchin introduces assistance tool for business

Associated Press - March 13, 2010 6:05 AM ET

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Gov. Joe Manchin says a new technical assistance program should help small businesses and manufacturers improve their economic, energy and environmental performance.

The governor announced Friday that three organizations headquartered at West Virginia University will carry out the project dubbed E3-WV.

With funding from the West Virginia Division of Energy, the program will help businesses adapt and thrive in a new era that focuses on energy efficiency and sustainability.

Industries of the Future-West Virginia and the Industrial Assessment Center will provide energy assessments for industrial and commercial businesses while the West Virginia Manufacturing Extension Partnership review manufacturing processes for energy and material savings.
