To make sure your Valentine's Day flowers stay fresh and beautiful remember these tips when caring for them.
Lay your cut flowers flat on the countertop and fill your vase with fresh, room temperature water.
Before placing your flowers in the vase, remove any leaves that will sit below the water line.
This will help prevent the stems from decaying.
Also follow the directions when mixing in the preservatives because each flower arrangement is different.
"You should be able to just lift the arrangement out of the vase. The grid is built for the flowers to hold themselves in place. Trim the stems every couple of days and put them in fresh water with preservatives." explains Steven Webb, owner, Dias Floral Company.
Remember to not place roses in direct sunlight or in warm places such as on top of your television.
Roses are the most popular flowers purchased for Valentine's Day and they can last over a week with a little extra care.
