Owners track down two allegedly stolen horses

A pair of horses have returned back to their owners after they were allegedly taken from their barn. Summers County Sheriff Ed Dolphin says a group of people stole a pair of horses from a Hinton ranch then drove them down to Mississippi to be auctioned.

Dolphin says the four suspects are known livestock traders and the stolen horses were just two of twelve they brought with them.

"The only one scheduled was in New Albany, Mississippi," said Sheriff Dolphin. "And she took a gamble and flew there and contacted the agricultural people and the Sheriff's Department and went to where this auction was going to take place and at that time, the suspects drove-up with one of her horses in the trailer."

Dolphin says the suspects could face multiple charges including two-counts of grand larceny. But they could face additional charges if the health of the animals decline.

The horses are worth about 12-hundred dollars each... And they're being held out-of-state for the time-being.

The Summers County Sheriff's Department says they'll be making arrests in the near future.
