A Beckley thrift store is cleaning-up after vandals broke-in and trashed it. The Salvation Army Thrift Store on South Fayette Street was broken into twice on Sunday... Once in the morning and again in the evening. Store managers say the thieves used fire extinguishers to vandalize the store then took about 20-dollars in donations.
"The sad part is, they could just ask for help and we'd find a way of helping them," says Captain Robert Barber of the Salvation Army. "Anything we can do to help people, they don't have to commit crimes, they can ask us for help and we're more than willing to do whatever we can."
Two of the store's vending machines were also vandalized. Beckley Police are investigating the break-ins and have already sent some blood samples to state police for testing.
