Students at Concord University are spending the night outside in boxes to raise money and awareness for homelessness.
Box City 2009 started Friday morning at 8 a.m. and will go until Saturday morning at 8 a.m.
It's an annual event at Concord and one organizers hope will raise awareness and increase action against the growing problem.
They say the night is an eye-opener for people involved in the program.
Money raised from Box City 2009 will go toward Scottie's Place, a camp for homeless kids in Monroe County.
