Greg Carter
News Anchor, NBC 6 @ 6

Greg Carter co-anchors the NBC6 @ 6 newscast. The Tazewell, Virginia native has been with WVVA since June of 1997. Greg holds a degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Theatre Arts from Virginia Tech. Prior to being named News Director and News Anchor, he served as Assignment Editor, News Reporter, Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter and Sports Director.

Greg can often be found in local schools reading to students or talking about the television business. You can often see him entertaining students as a member of the ESPN Radio Drug Free All-Star Basketball Team. Greg is also a member of the Bluefield Kiwanis Club. He is a member of the Tazewell Family Worship Center.

Greg shares his life with his wife Melinda and their three kids...Xavier, Braxton and Dejah.

Leigh Ann Long
News Anchor, NBC 6 @ 6 & 11

Leigh Ann Long is proud to be a part of the NBC 6 news team bringing you the latest news at 6pm and 11pm.

Leigh Ann joined WVVA in April 2006 after co-anchoring the evening news at WHCP-TV in Charleston, WV. Before that she worked as the weekend anchor and reporter at a nearby ABC affiliate and as an assignment editor for The Ohio News Network.

Leigh Ann caught the news bug after interning at several local stations in Columbus, Ohio. She also spent a few months interning with NBC network news in London, England.

Leigh Ann earned a B.A. in Communications and a minor in Business from The Ohio State University. She is a native of Ohio but has come to call the mountains of the Virginias home.

In her spare time Leigh Ann enjoys spending time with her family and friends and never turns down a chance to get out into the great outdoors.

Leigh Ann lives in Beckley with her husband and their cat.

Corey Henderson
Chief Meteorologist

NBC 6 meteorologist Corey Henderson knows how much the weather affects our lives. Growing up on a farm in Macomb, Illinois, where his family raised cattle, corn and beans, he saw first-hand the importance of knowing what the elements might deliver.

Corey's interest in the weather lead him to study meteorology at Western Illinois University, where he graduated in 1995. Following graduation, he worked for WLUC-TV in Marquette, Michigan. While there, he was kept busy with record snowfalls. He is a member of the American Meteorology Society. Corey joined the NewsChannel 6 team as a forecaster in 1997.

Because of his interest in science, especially weather and physics, forecasting the weather is more than a profession for Corey. He says he loves the challenges and constant change this emerging science presents.

P.J. Ziegler
Sports Director/Anchor

P.J. Ziegler joined the NBC 6 team in December 2005. He came to the two Virginias from northern Minnesota where he spent two years as Sports Director for KAWE-TV.

During his time in Minnesota, P.J. had the opportunity to cover the Minnesota Twins, Vikings, Timberwolves and Wild. He also covered the local scene as well, including Division I Men's and Women's Hockey.

P.J. is a native of Cleveland, Ohio and is a 2003 graduate of Kent State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism.

When not bringing the two Virginias the latest local sports news he can be found working out at a local gym or watching sports on television. His favorite team is the Florida Gators, but he still roots for the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers and Indians.

Norm Miller
NBC 6 @ 5 Anchor/Reporter

Norm Miller joined NBC 6 in December of 2006 to anchor our 5pm Newscast report for our late shows from the Raleigh County Studio.

Calling Westbrook, ME his hometown, Norm graduated from Concord University in 2006 with a BA in Electronic Media.

While studying at Concord University, Norm helped build a production company in Princeton. Also while in college, Norm gained broadcast experience directing and anchoring for WMLT News at Concord University. This show eventually aired across the state on PBS alongside West Virginia University and Marshall University programs.

Norm has lived here in Southern West Virginia for the last seven years. He's grown to call this beautiful part of the country home. He hopes to bring the news to the people and area he has grown to love with honesty and integrity.

Outside of work, Norm is a huge sports fan, especially for his New York Yankees. He's always up for a good fantasy sports league. Along with being a huge movie buff, Norm can usually be found relaxing with friends, stuffing his face(nothing better than a medium filet mignon)or relaxing at home playing his guitar.

Sarah Nolte
Morning & Noon Meteorologist

Sarah joined the WVVA team in April of 2006 as the weekend meteorologist and part-time reporter and she is now the morning and noon meteorologist.

Before WVVA, Sarah worked for Great Lakes Weather Service and WAOW in Wausau, Wisconsin where she experienced all kinds of weather from blizzards to tornadoes. Sarah attended the Ohio State University and graduated with a degree in Atmospheric Sciences in December of 2004. She is a native of Ohio, born and raised in a Suburb of Columbus and is a die hard Buckeye fan. During football season, you will be sure to find her wearing an OSU jersey every Saturday.

Sarah’s interest in weather started at a young age. She was afraid of thunderstorms as a child, but that sparked her interest in the weather and how it works. Sarah loves the four distinct seasons of this region and is happy to call the two Virginias her home. She enjoys the outdoors, traveling, movies and shopping.

Stacia Harris
NBC 6 Today and NBC 6 @ Noon

Stacia Harris joined the NBC 6 newsteam in August of 2007. She's excited to be a part of NBC 6 Today and NBC 6 at Noon.

Stacia spent two years in Hastings, Nebraska. She was a morning and midday anchor and health reporter at KHAS-TV. And before that, she was an education reporter and host for Cable 2, in Winston-Salem, NC.

Stacia majored in Communication and double minored in Politics and Journalism at Wake Forest University

She grew up in South Carolina and is happy to be back closer to her family.

When she's not at work, Stacia enjoys reading, photography, traveling, biking and shopping online.

Larry Scott
Weekend Meteorologist / Reporter

Larry joined the WVVA News team in April of 2008 as a weekend meteorologist and weekday reporter.

Larry is native of Nashville, Tennessee and is a 2007 graduate of Western Kentucky University. While in college he interned at WSMV-TV 4 and WZTV-Fox 17 in Nashville, TN. He is also a member of the National Weather Association.

His passion for weather started when he was a toddler...always looking outside the window, watching the thunderstorms light up the evening sky.

Larry’s interests outside of work include going to the movies, fishing, traveling and playing a variety of sports. He is a die-hard fan of the Tennessee Titans, San Antonio Spurs and of course his alma mater the Hilltoppers.

Jordan Conigliaro
Weekend Sports Anchor

Jordan Conigliaro joined the NBC 6 Sports Team in May of 2007. He comes to the Two Virginia's from WHP-TV in Harrisburg, PA. At WHP-TV Jordan gained experience in all aspects of news and sports broadcasting - editing, shooting and writing news and sports stories. He spent his last month in Harrisburg working as an associate producer for their morning show.

Jordan was born and raised in another coal country, Scranton, PA. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania in May of 2006. While in college, Jordan completed two internships in local sports broadcasting and also worked as a sports writer for a local newspaper, writing feature stories on local high school and college athletes.

You can find Jordan on the sports desk every weekend on NBC 6 at 11 and reporting on local sports during the week. Away from the station, you'll find him on a tennis court or watching a Boston Red Sox game.

Terri Wiseman
General Assignment Reporter

Terri joined the WVVA news team in November 2006. She is a reporter in the Raleigh County Studio.

A graduate of Ohio University, Terri earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism.

She interned at WTAE in her native Pittsburgh and would like to thank Mike Clark and everyone at the station for their advice and support along the way.

While Terri says she will miss Pittsburgh and her family, she is looking forward to spending time in West Virginia and getting to know the people of the two Virginias.

Every other Wednesday on NBC 6 at 5, Terri features the story a successful woman in the Two Virginia's. It's called Winning Women. Erica Greenway
General Assignment Reporter

A native of Virginia Beach, Erica is a graduate of Virginia Tech where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication and Political Science. While in college she interned at WSLS in Roanoke, Virginia and WAVY in Portsmouth, Virginia. She was also actively involved in the campus TV station, serving as news director and anchor.

Erica loves skiing and spending time outdoors, so she is excited to start exploring the area and meeting people in the community. In her free time she enjoys reading, watching movies, and cheering on her Hokies at Virginia Tech.

Kelly Camarote
General Assignment Reporter

Kelly comes to WVVA from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Raised in southwestern PA, she cheers on the Steelers when they win or lose.

Kelly graduated from Point Park University with degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Theatre Arts.

While at Point Park, Kelly interned at two Pittsburgh television stations: KDKA and WTAE. After college, she was hired at WTAE as an associate producer.

Kelly started with WVVA in January 2007 as a General Assignment Reporter. In her free-time, she likes to spend time with family and friends, read, and knit.

Paul Hess
Reporter

Paul Hess joined the NBC 6 news team in August 2004 as a Photographer after a brief stint in the production department. He was promoted to Reporter in March of 2008. A longtime Bluefield resident, Paul is a graduate of Bluefield State College and is proud to call four seasons country his home.

Before WVVA, Paul worked at a local "healthy living" television channel in the operations department.

Paul enjoys music, home improvement activities, and spending time with his wife Joanna and his three sons: Tanner, Riley, and Cayden.

Vain Colby
Assignment Editor/Speedcam Reporter

Vain Colby has been on the Assignment Desk at NBC 6 for the past nine years.

After attending Concord College, Vain quickly put his skills to work in production, as a photographer and reporting.

You can find him out on any given street monitoring traffic with the Speed Cam Crew.

In his spare time he enjoys the stage where he has starred in such shows as "Driving Miss Daisy," "Little Shop of Horrors," "God's Favorite," and "Purlie."

Vain was born in McDowell County and is active is several local churches including the Wade Center and Scott Street Baptist Church.

Mark Hughes

Mark Hughes is an 18 year veteran of NBC 6.
He has covered just about every big news story, from the Pittston strike in 1989 through the Virginia Tech Tragedy. Mark has been fortunate to have been recognized twice by the West Virginia Associated Press for Best Photographic Journalism.

Through the years Mark feels very lucky to have worked with many very talented young reporters that have moved on to bigger markets where they continue to succeed...as well as the crop of young up and coming journalists on our staff now.

Mark was born and raised in Summers County, (GO BOBCATS) where he lives today in Barger Springs with his wife Pat and his son Bryan on the beautiful Greenbrier River. Mark’s hobbies include movies, music, sports and working outside on his property. But his real passion is attending Virginia Tech football games with his with his family. GO HOKIES!

Over the years Mark is very proud to have been a small part of the enormous success that NBC Six has enjoyed and looks forward to working many more years bringing local news to our viewers through his lens.

Robert (Robby) Pauley
Photographer

Robert (Robby) Pauley joined the NBC 6 news team in April 2004. He works as a photojournalist in our Raleigh County Studio often contributing his own reports via phone.

He has covered some of the area's biggest stories including the presidential race of 2004 which brought President George W. Bush and other candidates to Southern West Virginia. He's also covered the tragic shooting of Cpl. Chuckie Smith in Beckley. Most recently Robert covered the shocking explosion in Ghent that brought national attention to our region.

Originally from Oak Hill, Robert knows the importance of good news coverage. That's why he enjoys bringing local news to his family and friends.
