ATHENS (WVVA) - Add 'National Champion' to the list for one Concord University athlete.

Sophomore Shawnee Carnett became the school's first NCAA Division II national champion in the 800-meter national finals.

Carnett was the top seed at trials on Saturday and turned in the best times for three preliminary races.

This was her second time competing in the national race and third time making All-American.
