CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Coal and natural gas producer Consol Energy is due to release its second-quarter financial results.
Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters expect the Canonsburg, Pa.-based company to report earnings of 66 cents per share Thursday morning.
Consol earned $113.3 million, or 62 cents per share, in the second period of 2009. Revenue totaled $1.07 billion.
Consol is a far different company in 2010. So far this year, Consol has bought most of the Appalachian oil and gas business of Virginia-based Dominion Resources and acquired the roughly 20% of CNX Gas that it didn't own already.
Consol operates primarily in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
